EISENWARENMESSE - International Hardware Fair 2016: Many exhibitors have innovative new products on board

EISENWARENMESSE - International Hardware Fair always was and still is the important platform for the perfect and comprehensive presentation of the competences, new products and trends of the hardware industry. The exhibition halls in Cologne open their doors again for this year's trade fair from 6 to 8 March 2016. Over the course of three days, the trade audience will then have the opportunity to inform themselves about important trends, new and intelligent product solutions, improved marketing strategies and concepts for the point of sale. For example, in Hall 10 one exhibitor is symbolically presenting the production of an item in order to demonstrate to interested parties according to which quality standards 'made in Germany' tools are produced. Even a virtual forge hammer is to get the exhibition hall rocking at fixed times.

EISENWARENMESSE - International Hardware Fair is just round the corner and a few weeks before the trade fair begins, many of the exhibitors from the represented areas of competence Tools, Industrial Supply, Fastening and Fixing Technologies, Services as well as Home Improvement, are indicating that they will be bringing innovative new products and sales ideas with them.

World premieres in Cologne
Indeed, one of the market leaders will be presenting a genuine world premiere on the Sunday of the trade fair. The exhibitor consciously chose EISENWARENMESSE - International Hardware Fair for the presentation of this new and highly-efficient tool, because the trade fair remains to be the industry's leading event. However, it doesn't directly always have to be world premieres. For example, an abrasive manufacturer is presenting a product with a newly developed ceramic grain size. As a result the grinding disc is very hard, extremely rough and particularly durable. In this way, ultimately both the grinding performance and the economic efficiency are improved. With its sharp-edged form, the abrasive grain penetrates the metal to be processed fast and easily. Its characteristics bring about a controlled breaking off of the material, which means that a new sharp cutting edge is formed again and again.
In the pneumatic tools area, one exhibitor is presenting a new pneumatic nailer generation that is set to convince the users with its increased performance, improved energy efficiency and long service life. In the case of this generation of appliances, common wear parts such as the sealing system, pistons and buffers are made out of particularly resistant materials, which enables an unusually long service life to be combined with a low air consumption and low generation of noise and vibration.

Solutions for the POS
In addition to good and innovative products, it is repeatedly mentioned that is is important that every manufacturer offers the trade active sales support. The customer is to receive orientation ideally at the first glance that enables him to make a fast selection. The exhibitors are presenting new trends in this connection too. For example, one supplier has added a small-structured display unit to an existing shelf system that enables the space-saving presentation of goods at the POS. The modular design makes it very clearly arranged and ensures a high degree of flexibility and comfort. The display unit can be extended as desired depending on the product range and amount of space available. Another exhibitor is presenting a novel shelf system that, depending on the contents, allows a large selection of stainless steel connecting elements to be displayed in just two shelf elements. The customers are also being offered content-optimised packet sizes suitable for presentation in the retail trade.

But product range expansions are also causing a 'wow' effect. For example, such expansions can come in the form of additional versions of a trusted telescopic ladder or a new hybrid technology roofing hammer. A redesigned tool box series, which makes the work easier and more flexible for the professional user, is also on board. But there are also innovative further developments in the area of technical maintenance products. For instance, in the scope of his product programme for machine cleaning and maintenance, one brand name supplier from Germany is focusing on an ice rust remover and a silicone spray. The formula of both sprays has been changed and the products are much more effective as a result.

"Once again the trade fair offers new products and trends from the tool sector combined with a unique overview of the market. The Internet can't offer such a competent presentation of the products or such an efficient communication with the exhibitors. In my opinion, the specialised trade certainly shouldn't miss out on the opportunity of visiting EISENWARENMESSE - International Hardware Fair. In addition to the stands in the halls, the trade fair also offers further interesting formats, for example the new E-Commerce section and the DIY Boulevard, to get into dialogue with each other.
In a nutshell: The trade fair offers an excellent opportunity that the specialised trade should make use of," emphasised Thomas Dammann, Executive Director of the Central Association of the Hardware Trade e.V., ZHH.
